Just a heads up the the stand alone Music Collector app for Mac OS27 Golden Gate will only work with Rosetta, and any future upgrades to the OS will render the app unusable. This will mean that to continue to use CLZ you will have to transfer over to the Web based subscription service. I had brief dialogue with Alwin a couple of years ago about CLZ stopping support for Mac App, whilst continuing with Windows support, and his view was very much that browser based apps are now the norm. I still like the ability to look at my collection offline; however that will soon be gone!!
Please note that this has been the case since 2020 that you need Rosetta on Intel based macs to run our legacy macos software. This is not “new for macOS 27”.
I’m saying this because I get the feeling we will get panic reactions on your message ![]()
In short:
Needing Rosetta to run any Intel based mac app (like our old legacy macOS version) has been needed since 2020.
From macOS 28 onwards, Apple has decided to not support this anymore. This means that
- You can still run your legacy mac Music Collector right now, you just need Rosetta (just like you did in the past 6 years.
- You have another year at least
- You can also decide to “not update to macOS 28” when it finally comes out next year.
Trade in:
We offer a generous trade-in deal if you decide to go to our web-app!
In fact, all development on the macOS editions of our software has already been stopped and have been removed from sale since Feb 1, 2021.
I strongly recommend to switch to CLZ Music Web software (for your web-browser) ASAP, using our generous Trade-In Offer.
CLZ Music Web is easier to use and easier to manage, while still giving you all features and customization options. And it is has our full development focus, giving your regular updates with improvements and new features.

Let me know if you are interested or have any questions about switching to CLZ Music Web.
CLZ Music Web can be installed as an app on your mac.
And, if you have a Silicon mac, you could even install the CLZ Music mobile app from the App Store on it by the way (but I would recommend using the Web version.
