Talk about disappointing. We can’t report missing books on Facebook, and now we can’t even report missing books through this annoying, pain-in-the-rear forum system? We have to use the “submit to core” feature which doesn’t include important important information and never gets added to the system? Making the app worse and less responsive because you are having too much success? Makes me want to cancel my subscription. Guess I’ll just put all of my “odd books” in a pile somewhere that I can revisit once you guys get your act together and give users an easy way to add titles like the B variant for Forever Forward issue 5 from Scout Comics - a modern, recent title with the B variant included for issues 1-4.

I don’t understand how you think you are “getting less functionality for your money”. Submitting to Core is just a different way to get missing books added. A method that is a bit more efficient for us to process. Simple because we have good semi-automated admin tools to queue submitted books, process them in batch, etc…
I have no idea why this “is going to result in a lot of bad edits and updates”. That is certainly not the case. Submitted books are still manually processed and moderated by our admins.
All that said - is it possible to “duplicate” a book, then edit the appropriate information, and then submit that update to the core?
Yes, that is certainly possible AND even the recommended method. As soon as you modify the issue number, variant letter, variant description or barcode, it is automatically seen as a submit for a NEW comic, not an update to the original entry.
What is the best way to get this stupid book added to the system so that it will be listed in my catalog correctly and will not be overwritten by somebody else’s “core update” down the road?
The best way is duplicate an existing variant, modify the info, then Submit. There is no reason why it would "be overwritten by somebody else’s “core update” down the road.

We are just trying to optimize the process of getting missing comics into Core. Trying to do this as efficiently as possible.

The way we see it, this forum works a LOT better for reporting missing comics, compared to the long and unwieldy FB post, with thousand of comments, all kinds of conversation running in on thread… complete chaos,
Here on the forum, we can have nice separate topic for each missing comic, with a separate conversation between you and the CLZ crew, about that one comic. Super clear, super efficient.
FYI: based on all the complaints, we decided to change the “Missing Comics” rules back to what they were. You can report ANY missing comic on the forum now.

You dropped the bomb, with 2 posts on Facebook and 2 posts on this forum. Lots of discussion, responses from me everywhere… we even changed our “missing comics” rules based on your feedback and that of other users… and then… nothing…
