Changes in Artist's name sticking

Good Saturday (here) evening,

I’m in the process of changing/correcting the artist names in my collection and I’ve noticed when I change some names the changes don’t stick. When I go back and sort them by artist name they’ve reverted to the original. Is this a bug?

Can you go to Manage Pick Lists (menu top left, then Manage Pick Lists), then go to Artists list.

Now make a small search of part of the artist name that didn’t stick.

You probably have this artist double.

If so, you can use the Merge functionality on that screen to merge them. After merging, you can fix the name and it should stick.

Thanks, @CLZ_AJ. I had already done that, a few times. When I tried again today, it worked, save for Peter Gabriel. For some reason even when the artist sort name is last, first, he still shows up in list view as first, last. Can you help?
