CLZ Movies Web down?

Is CLZ Movies Web down for anybody else? It’s been down for me for a couple of days now. Microsoft Edge says the certificate claims to be from pickleballden.com, and Chrome gives a 403 error with the message, “Missing Api Key for endpoint GET /movies from 97.119.184.223.”.

I’ve noticed this happening somewhat frequently recently.

Oh, you know what… this reminds me of a situation we had at my previous employer. We provided websites for our clients and used AWS to provide the endpoints. AWS used hostnames for those endpoints. The problem is that you can’t point a root domain to a hostname, so many of our clients would create type “A” records to point to the IP addresses of the endpoint hostname in use at the time. Unfortunately, AWS cycles their IP addresses at various times based on load and other factors. So, at some point in the future, those clients were guaranteed to end up pointing to somebody else’s website.

The solution was to use a DNS host that supported ALIAS or ANAME records or some other “flattening” mechanism that would allow you to point the root domain to a hostname. That way, when AWS changed the IP addresses, the DNS would automatically point to those new IPs.

I don’t know if that’s the issue here, but it would manifest the same.

From pickleballden? We haven’t heard of this website before, hah. We currently have no other reports from users that CLZ Movies Web is down.

Can you use your mobile phone and browse to CLZ Movies Web to see if it works? (make sure you use mobile data, not wifi, to try this)

If it works via mobile data, try with Wifi, does it still work?

If it does work on mobile data, but not on Wifi, it might be your router or something in your security setup (not sure if you’ve done these kinds of things in your home network?).

Flushing DNS Cache might also be something you can try.

Well, it was definitely on my end. I’m a DevOps/Drupal website developer, so I’ve done plenty of network troubleshooting before. I just didn’t bother looking any further on my side since this has happened a few times recently and always cleared up after awhile, so I just assumed it was on your end. Woops!

It turns out the site was working fine on another computer. I ran nslookup on both computers and they resolved to different sets of IPs. I flushed the DNS on my computer but that didn’t help. So, I rebooted my router and the nslookup started matching the other computer, but the site still wasn’t working. Restarting my browser is what finally did the trick.

Sorry for the false alarm! But the issue certainly explains why it manifested the way it did… pointing to someone else’s website IPs. I’m glad to know your site was doing fine the whole time though! :joy:

BTW, welcome back @CLZ_AJ!

Thanks for letting us know you got it to work!

Will you be getting the something from Pickle Ball denn anyway?

Hahaha! I think I’ll pass. :joy:
