I’m a long time user of the Collectorz desktop software and I’m looking to migrate to the Web version (I already have the Clz Phone app). What I’d like to know is if all the customization I’ve done and all the data I’ve captured in the user defined fields on the desktop app will migrate to the the web app (and then the phone app).

“User Defined Fields” from the old Windows version will not sync to the new “Custom Fields” feature on mobile. They will only sync between the CLZ Games Web app and CLZ Games Mobile app.
We do offer a one-time import to get your User Defined Fields to the web-app, and from then on you can sync them with the mobile app. This does mean you have to switch your subscription over to the Web-app and stop using the old Windows version.
So to get your User Defined Fields to your mobile app, you need to perform 3 steps:
- Start a trial of the CLZ Games Web app
- Import your user defined fields to the web-app with our special tool
- Completely switch your old Game Collector Windows license and subscription over to the CLZ Games Web app
1: Start a trial of the CLZ Games Web app:
- First, make sure your CLZ Cloud is up-to-date. In Game Collector, just Sync with CLZ Cloud.
- Now go here and log in with your existing CLZ Account: Login to Game Connect This will automatically start your 7-day free trial.
2: Import your user defined fields to the web-app with our special tool:
- Follow the steps on this page to import your user defined fields to the web-app:
Login to Connect
3: Completely switch your license over to the web-app:
This means letting go of the old Game Collector Windows software. You will completely move to our web-app and eventually uninstall it from your computer.
You can do this through our generous Trade-in Offer: we will trade-in your remaining Game Collector subscription days and will transfer them to CLZ Games Web, plus we will add 4 extra months for free.

Ready to switch to the Web version? Here’s what to do:
- Log in to your account at my.clz.com.
- In the Game Collector box, under “Trade-in offer”, click the button that says “Switch me over!” and follow instructions.
Ok, follow up question to that. If I am using the CLZ Games Web version, do I really need the phone apps? Can I not just access via the web app? Just wondering if there is any benefit other than having a local copy on my phone if I have bad service.
The CLZ Games Web software was really designed for the big screen, for computer usage.
The CLZ Games mobile app will give you a much better experience on your phone, with a UI designed for the small screen.
Everything went well with the transfer of the custom fields. That’s awesome. One thing I don’t see on the web app is the ability to create saved searches. Is that correct or am I just looking in the wrong place?
