I’m new to the software and it’s overall great but I’m a bit confused about box sets, in particular the edition details. They are available in the Core as they are displayed when added as a single entry. But when added as the one entry per movie option, which I prefer, those details are not copied from set to movies (and not shown in the boxset section). Also a lot of box sets have covers for each movie (Criterion for example provides them, or box sets are just slips with individual keep cases), but the Core does not seem to provide them. Is this something on the CLZ roadmap or am I using it wrong? Thank you!

Here one example, once added as box set with two movies (no edition details shown), and once as single entry (all details shown). Both movies also have “official” covers for that edition that the core could provide.
Here an example of what I mean with box sets having official covers. Took me a bit to get all those 18 covers for all movies in this box set, even with the handy find covers online function.
These are just the 2 ways you can add a box set. You can add them as “single movies bound together with box set level”. This will mean all movies get their own MOVIE cover and movie data (like their own cast/crew list per movie, own plot).
We do give you the option to add box sets as “single entries” where the movie list will appear as a “list” in the plot field. If you do that, you get 1 entry, with indeed the box set cover as “main cover”.
This option also sometimes adds more information about edition details for the box set.
If you add as loose movies, you will get “main movie details” per each movie, not the box set edition details added per movie. Would that be better if you’d get the box set edition details added to “each loose movie”? the same data? (or would you rather have the box set pick list item have “more fields” where it would be added once, and shown at the top, in the box set area? (this would all be new and a feature request).
No, I think it’s fine where they are. Some edition details like audio track, layers etc. are often not the same for all movies in a set. The main feature request would be a way to be able to be a good CLZ citizen and submit the loose movie details to the core. Like if I add all the 18 covers, audio tracks, layers, etc. to the big Agnes Varda box set 715515247917, can I get this somehow to the Core so that the next user gets them too?
I’m afraid not: our online database (without diverging too much in how stuff works on our side) is that we have a movie, with main movie details, and under that we store all the different versions we have (per barcode) with edition details, or specific covers for each movie.
When you add a box set: we have those stored with the “movies that are in the box set” - but only the “main movie details” - we do not store edition details for movies inside a box set, so there’s no way to submit that either I’m afraid.
