The cover image works so well to add a new book that it would be great to have the ability to be able to search my comics by cover as well (rather than just barcode / name).
In my case, when I sell a book I update the details in CLZ but with virgin variants it can be difficult to know which series they are from never mind their issue number.
Right now I go through the process of adding it as new book to get the details and then searching by name so having the ability to search my library by cover would be a real time saver.
That would be pretty cool and is something that is on our radar!
(the cover scan uses a powerful serverside check to see which comic it is, so we might have to make it that you would scan it, the scan would check with our server which comic it is, and send that info back to show you your comic that relates to that result in your own database - it would still likely be lightning fast though - but only work for comics you actually added via the official Add Comics screen)
I’m not sure if we could make it so it would actually see your local images and compare it to that. That is a whole different ballpark, technologically - but who knows!
It is definitely on our radar, would be an awesome feature.
Did you know:
Did you know you can already scan a barcode using the local search top right in the app? Just tap the search box, then the “camera icon” and scan a barcode to find it in your local collection!
Thanks for the reply. Personally I don’t use my own images but I think if it just matched it against the series name issue and variant number that would work regardless.
The barcode search is really useful but variants often stick that on the back which means taking it out of the bag and board.
