Currently, Man of Steel #1 is currently tagged as a Minor Key as “First variant cover ever” but this isn’t correct. I can’t say for certain what the “first variant cover ever” was but there were earlier variant covers. For example, The Adventures of Big Boy (1956) released different covers for the east and west coast markets. In these “variants” the Big Boy covers were drastically different from one another (see screen cap from CLZ) I did some research and it looks like Man of Steel #1 is regarded as the first MODERN variant cover. Maybe the Man of Steel #1 key should be changed to “First modern variant cover”?
