Is there a way to change the default for FORMAT to Cloth and Dustjacket or Hardback and Dustjacket?
I’ve moved your topic to CLZ Books Web (it was posted in Book Collector forum, which is the old Windows version, and I think you have CLZ Books Mobile and CLZ Books Web).
If you wish to set a format of a book before adding it, try using Pre-fill Settings.
Open the menu top left, then tap Pre-fill Settings.
Tap the GEAR icon to remove fields you don’t want to set, and add Format as a field.
Make sure to switch the toggle to make it “Always show before adding” for now.
Now try adding a book.
Once you hit the Add button, a popup will come, asking you which format you want to use for that book.
It will remember what you set there previously.

I am not (for the most part) ADDING books. I am checking info in the records I already have in my collection. Under FORMAT the default has been Hardback. I would like the default to be Hardback and Dustjacket. I tried the steps you recommended, but I must have missed something because now the FORMAT is blank (not even Hardback). What did I miss?

Did you make sure to toggle the switch to make it always show before adding?

When adding, a popup should show, that is where you have to fill in hardback if you want the book you’re about to add be added with Hardback as the format.
When you added Format to the Prefill setting, did you type in the default you want or did you leave it blank? If you type in the default, you can always change it when the popup comes up.
