Hope this is all right, but wanted to share some fun you can have with the new custom fields. I set up two custom fields, ‘Required’ and ‘SeeAlso’ and wrote a python script to convert a downloaded XML CLZ collection into a reading order graph.
Attached is an example, for DC Comics from 2024/10/01 (roughly the start of DC All-In) to now. Grey nodes are read, white are unread. Sorry for the size, the graph is created as a compact SVG file, but can’t upload that here, so converted to PNG.
This is the ‘collapsed’ form, where runs of issues that only go to/from their own title are compacted into a single node. Those with some read/some unread are white/grey gradient fill.
Solid lines are required reading, dotted lines are ‘refers to’ or optional tie-ins.
With that being said, my god DC KO is a mess…
If anyone is interested in the non-compacted forms, I’d be happy to share but after I get down converting it, it’ll be blurry. XD
In any case, I had fun throwing this together.
