Handling of Multi Format Box Sets 3CD + Blu-ray etc

I’m new to the program, but having many Deluxe/Super Deluxe box sets that contain multiple discs in CD/Blu-Ray/DVD/DVD-Audio formats I’m wondering how they can be shown after inputting via barcode.

I realise only say, CD will come up at scanning, but then how would I start to build the box set to show it as a multi format box?. Do I included the “Super Deluxe Edition” as part of the title?

New to the software.. I see you do have our legacy Windows version indeed (this one is not under development anymore, but can indeed still be used if you used to own it in the past).

Basically the idea is that box sets = a set of multiple loose albums.

  • you add all albums as loose albums.
  • you set the box set field for each album to the name of the box set.
  • the loose albums appear as loose albums in your collection, and are bound together by the box set field (you see the box set albums at the top of the details panel for each of the albums bound to that box set).

Alternatively if this is just 1 album with multiple discs:
If you have an album that contains multiple discs of different formats: I would recommend adding 1 album, with multiple discs (the barcode search might not have found the multi-disc set).

You can edit an album, go to the tracks tab, and add more discs there using the disc PLUS button. You can set a format for each of the discs, and add tracks to each of the discs.

I suppose all could be appended to the title e.g. “Abbey Road Super Deluxe Ed. 3CD/Bluray”

So I checked Discogs for this album, and found that the Catalog number is the same as the barcode (I think).

I would recommend doing it like so:
So not use box set, but instead, find it… then CHECKBOX the 3 discs… then Add as multi-disc album.

Then go into edit screen, rename the discs, the title, etc.

You can edit a DISC on the tracks tab and set a format for that disc.

That’s perfect - thank you!.

From the catalog no. on my Legacy version only the 3 CDs come up as shown separately, and there isn’t a standalone bluray shown (which is disc 1 tracks plus a video track total 18 tracks). Am I able to add a disc into the set using the Disc 1 and edit to show it’s a Bluray not a CD.

Alternatively, where a multi disc set shows as all 58 tracks. Can I divide them up into individual discs and renumber them?
