Link comics, series not found

Trying to link “Fantastic Four” (original series from the 60’s) but it suggests only “Fantastic Four TP” from 2004. The “select series” button shows no results on a search. Same for “Amazing Spider-Man”, “Strange Tales”, etc.

To be clear, I’m talking about

Link Comics / Select series

Every query produces 0 results. Is there another way?

There’s no other way, this is what you indeed have to do.

However: You’ve found a bug in the Cloud version in the link screen. We’re working on a fix, I’ll reply back here when you can search again.

My apologies for the temporary inconvenience caused.

@jdimm

This has now been fixed, can you try the link screen again to see if you get results now too?

Thanks! That was fast.

One thing probably already in your backlog: in link comics, you make an attempt to locate the core item using only the serial name (right?). If there is a single hit, you display the match right away and the user just has to click the link button. First suggestion is go ahead and make the link in that case. You are probably right, and anyway it needs to be easy to undo a bad mapping.

A second thing: I supplied publication date in my CSV. In that case, the match could be more precise by including the date as well as the serial name. In almost all my silver age cases, the correct match would have been the only one. There was only one X-Men in 1965.

With those two features, 90% of my mappings could have been done automatically, before I even realized there’s a manual method for the stragglers.

That said, it was no big pain to do it manually, kind of fun to see stuff show up. The only thing there is that the tiny covers should grow on hover.

Thanks for doing a great job!
