I was just at DragonCon yesterday to get some comics signed. One of the artists there was Bob Layton. I brought with me Marvel Spotlight vol 1 number 32 (first appearance of Spider-Woman). CLZ has him listed as cover inker. He confirmed for me yesterday that he is NOT the inker for that cover. Layton is not associated with that issue at all. Other sources have Dick Giordano as the possible cover inker, but I can’t confirm. Can you please remove Bob Layton as cover inker for that issue?
Hi, first of all: Sorry for the inconvenience. Bringing a book to a creator for it to be signed, and then to be told they didn’t work on it can be an uncomfortable interaction. This and just asking for a creator if they worked on something is the only way to know if someone has worked on something for older issues. There are credits noted in those older books but it doesn’t always include all of the people who worked on it. I hope you were able to have a good chat with him besides this?
I removed his name from our entry. We had it noted this way because of comics.org. They had it with a question mark so that means it’s not a 100% confirmed. Thank you for letting us know about this!
