Questions and issues with managing Collections

Hi,

I have a few questions and issues with Collections.

Issues

  1. I’ve created and deleted different collections over the years. I’ve noticed on the web my older collections no longer in use (which have 0 entries) are still showing. I’ve seen these deleted by the CLZ staff for other users, can I have the same done for me?
  2. When migrating and entire series from one collection A to collection B, I will later notice it will not consistently move the entire series. This is not immediately apparent because once I’ve moved the series, the series will disappear from the series list in collection A. Later, when I look at collection B, I’ll notice issues are missing and lo and behold those missing issues are still in collection A. Is this a known issue?

Question:

  1. With multiple collections, is there any way for me to share a link to a specific collection and only that collection? I have a collection labeled “To Be Sold” which I’d like to make public, but not my other collections if I can help it.

Thanks in advance for all your help, love the app!

Done!

This is not a known issue. I need someone from my team to investigate. This is on the mobile app right? Does it happen “sometimes” or “all the time when you move a series”?

  • can you add a “test series” now (one you don’t have) and move it and it happens? If you can actively reproduce it I have some questions:

  • How do you move a series? Do you select all comics inside the series folder of it and then Action > Move? Or do you move multiple series in one go? Let me know your steps please.

  • Are you on iOS or Android? Phone/Tablet? Which version of the iOS/Android OS?

Go to cloud.clz.com and log in. Click the menu top left, and click CLZ Cloud Sharing

In there, set the top one to “Public”

Then set the ones you want to hide from public to “Private”
The ones you want to show, set them to Public.

Then share your regular Cloud share link with them and they will only see your collections you set to Public.

Thank you for your quick response!

Regarding moving series between collection, this is all on mobile. I primarily use iOS (26.6.2) but sometimes use ipadOS (26.7). I make sure to sync anytime I am switching devices.

My workflow is:

  • Within Collection, view is by Series
  • Long-press to select a series (sometimes multiple series)
  • Action (bottom-right hamburger menu) > Move to Other Collection > Select collection
  • After selecting the collection to move these series to, those previously selected series are now gone from my view

I’d say the problem I originally described happens often. I know this is a problem because I have several full runs of a specific series and see these oddies. For example, I have New Mutants 1-100. I’ll move the entire series, then sometime later I’ll notice the series is broken up between two Collections, Collection A (the originating collection) New Mutantst will re-appear with random issues (e.g. issue #s 20, 27, 67, 72, 88) and Collection B (where I had moved it to) will have the remainder. I’m noticing these strange occurrences either later in the day or sometimes days later as I continue to organize. I have been working thru this re-organization for the past two weeks and I’d estimate I’ve had to move again these types of series stragglers about 1-2 dozen times during this timeframe.

I will attempt to reproduce it and circle back later as soon as I can with my results, likely tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you for that information, looking forward to your results, I’m currently not able to reproduce it. I tried moving a couple of series on iPad like you said, selected 7 series, moved to other collection. I checked the amount of comics it moved, and it was correct. I restarted app, and they’re still moved completely.

When you test this, perhaps you can immediately start recording video on your device, so when it happens, you have a video you can send me.

Here’s how you can make a screen recording on your iOS device:

  1. Go to Settings > Control Center, then tap + next to Screen Recording.
  2. Open Control Center (swipe down), tap the “Record” button, then wait for the three-second countdown.
  3. To stop recording, tap the red status bar at the top of the screen, then tap “Stop”.

You can send me the file(s) via:

Sorry for the delayed reply here.

This problem just occurred again but unfortunately I didn’t get to record anything.

In an attempt to eliminate points of failure, I stopped using the ipad app since my last reply and am only working on my iphone.

In the past two weeks I’ve made some changes as usual within the app, adding/removing comics, created a new collection. I typically ensure everything is synced and it usually is. Fast forward to last night – I opened the app again after not using it for a few days, went to update values, and noticed the Sync menu had an icon on it – I clicked on it and there were 700+ items to sync, which was strange, but I synced anyway.

After syncing, I noticed some issues were back to being split across collection. I’m not sure if it was already a problem or not.

I hope this is helpful.

It might’ve been - but we’ve still not had any other reports - I haven’t been able to reproduce it yet either.. you can sort by “date modified” inside a series folder, maybe that would shed some light on the case?
