After some years far from CLZ, I come back with the promise of the UDF that I knew in the past with Book Collector. And I discover now CLZ Books Web connected with Core.
I’ll try to make short
I want that all my books could be seen in Core
I don’t want to receive informations that could change the ones I have on My CLZ Books
I see that there are 2 methods : “Link to Core” or “Submit to Core”
I think that for me, the good method would be “Submit to Core” ? Am I right ?
Is there a way to browse inside Core, like in Library Thing ? searching series, or anything else… without adding a new book.
Another question about the future UDF : For my future UDF, will they go to Core, too, or staying only in “My CLZ Books” ? That means for the European Libraries OPAC numbers that I record :
If these informations go to Core, I’ll record them in the future UDF
If they stay in My CLZ Books, I’ll record them in Notes
Thank You AJ, Alwin & the CLZ Team for your product
Linking with Core just links an unlinked book on your side to one in Core, doesn’t do anything else.
Submitting to Core will allow you to send books into Core so other people can find the book.
You can only use the Add Books screen, and you can only search it by author/title or by ISBN. CLZ Books is not really meant to “explore” to find books you “might want to buy” or something (there are other websites for that that do that pretty good).
User Defined Fields (which will be named “Custom Fields” in CLZ Books Web) do not go to Core. They’re just your fields, no one else can see them.
You can do that, but if you have them in a Custom Field, you’d be able to add a column called “European Library OPAC” for instance, and it will get a dedicated spot in the details panel.
But, you can do whatever you like of course, yours to modify
