I have been having issues with synching between CLZ Music Web on my iMac and CLZ Music Mobile on my iPad and iPhone for some time now.
If I add a new album on my iMac via the core and then update the rear cover and save, it all looks fine however when I synch with the iPad and iPhone the updated cover disappears and the original cover from the core replaces it on the iPad and iMac.
While this is a little annoying I have learnt to live with it.
However, recently I have noticed the same thing happening with the Genre field as well.
For example I added a few entries via The Core and updated the genre from CD to Files.
I then synched to iPad and iPhone and ended up with genre entries for CD and not Files on those devices. The genre on the iMac remained as Files.
Funnily enough I managed to get around it by editing the genre fields on the iPad from CD to Files and then synching again and then doing the same on the iPhone.
Is this a known issue and is there anything that can be done about it?
Yes this is a known issue caused by the downsync on mobile, started last week.
But it is not known for genres… it is for FORMAT field.
Did you mean the FORMAT field?
For formats this was fixed in CLZ Music version 10.3.3 which was released 2 days ago.
Your app may have updated itself already (check the menu top left, the version number is at the top). If it hasn’t updated itself yet, here’s how to force the update:
on iOS:
On your device, open the App Store app.
Search “CLZ” and select your CLZ app.
Tap “Update” to update the app.
Then, apply the fix: - If it’s only 10 new albums, I would just give them one edit on your macOS (edit the notes for them or something) and sync. Then sync on iPad.
If you’ve added 100s of albums, do this:
On mobile: Tap menu top left, tap Maintenance, Tap “Update all From CLZ Cloud” and follow the steps.
