Trouble unlocking CLZ on new computer

I have a licensed copy of CLZ Music (V 16.2.2). I’ve just installed using the install executable from 2018 (I think). When I invoke Music Collector and try to unlock with my userid and password, I get an error window indicating a problem communicating with the internet. The suggestion is that my firewall may be the culprit. I’ve tried adding Music Collector to my firewall exception list, and I even tried turning my firewall off. Nothing gets me past that “internet error” message.

I don’t understand what’s going on and why the internet even needs to be involved. My use of Music Collector is simply managing my music catalog which is kept on my desktop computer.

George, you’re trying to install an old version of Music Collector that no longer connects to our servers. Please login to your CLZ account via https://my.clz.com/ and download the correct version. That would be 21.3.2, if I am looking at the correct account.
