Trying to add new format

I’ve seen this answered elsewhere, but it didn’t provide me with a way to add a new format+logo on my own; rather, it seems I have to request it. In my case, I’m looking to add a new format called Disk with a disk logo. Any chance of that?

You should be able to add a new format.. Simply go to manage pick lists and select format. There you can add Disk to your format list.

Yes, that works, but what I was hoping for was an image, i.e., an small graphic of a disk, and not just the word. Thanks!

When you add or edit a format it should give you 2 tabs, one is general and the other is for images.

I’m sorry, but on CLZ Movies Web, I go to Format, then Edit, I do not show 2 tabs, just one, and if I want to add a format (e.g., Disk), it will create a text format (“disk”), but there is no option to add an image.

You can not add your own images to pick list items on Web and Mobile indeed. Not sure why this was suggested that you could do this on Web.

Because I was thinking desktop version, not realizing DBR222 was using the Web version. I’ll try to remember this when I make suggestions in the future.

Just out of curiosity, what percentage of us die-hards are still using the desktop and not wanting to move to the web version.

I just switched over after being a Movie Collector devotee for years. The deal breaker for me was having the ability to transfer all my episode additions and emendations to CLZ Movies Web, and to make changes and fill omissions going forward. Truthfully, I’ve been very impressed and satisfied with Movies Web. It has matured tremendously just over the last year and meets my needs better than I expected.

Currently, around 10% of our subscribers is on the desktop version. That number has gone down fast and still is getting lower and lower.

I expect with the release of Custom Fields on the Web editions (just a few weeks away!), it may be nearing zero very quickly.

Thanks Alwin for your response. The main reason for me to stay with the desktop is the ability to link my music files from my hard drive. Will that ever be something we can do in the web version or is that not even making it in the door to get put on the table?

Scanning a local harddrive for music files would never be possible from the Web edition.

CLZ Web is a basically a website running in your browser. Websites do not have access to a user’s harddrive, for security reasons.

Also, CLZ Web is web-based software, meant to be used from any computer and any mobile device. So linking to local files that are on one specific computer does not really fit that portable nature.
