View of the book overview in Cloud Viewer

Hi together again,

One question to the cloud viewer: How can I select what is displayed in the book overview in Cloud Viewer? For example, the index, modified date, and purchase date are displayed, but I don’t want them to be displayed…

Matthias

Anyone who has your public cloud link, can change whatever sort order or columns they would like to see in the collection.

You can however make your Cloud “partial” public (do this in CLZ Cloud Sharing in the menu top left when you’re logged in), and this will hide “personal data” such as the purchase price and more.

You can also log in to Cloud, and change the columns, that would likely be the “Start off” point for users visiting - but - do know that visitors can change these themselves (this does NOT affect other visitors, just for them).

Yes, I can set the whole thing to “Partial,” which is quite better for me. But it would be even better if you could select individually what is visible on the overview page.
Specifically: I would like the overview page to display: genre, number of pages, original date, reading date, and plot - nothing more and nothing less.
Also: when I set it to “Partial,” the sorting options no longer include “Personal” options, meaning I can no longer sort by reading date, for example.

Okay, now I’ve at least discovered that you can set and specify the sorting functions via Favorites once you’re logged in.
However, there is still no option to individually customize what is displayed in the book overview.

Yes, the public cloud where people can view your books without logging in (and they can’t edit etc) will always be able to SELF choose which sorting and which columns they can view.

There is no way you as the account owner can set up the columns/sorting (and which fields are shown in details) and make sure no one visiting can change this.

It is tru that when you log in on the cloud you can set the columns and sorting, and for outside viewers that will be there “start point”. (note that this is hard to test for you, just know that it will remember the columns/sorting you’ve set when logged in to cloud for new outside viewers).

However: Everyone visiting can just modify sorting and columns themselves to have the complete freedom of how they want to check out your books.
(and when set to partial, they can not choose personal fields like reading date, of course).

Yes, I understand the options such as sorting for external readers.

However, I still don’t understand why we as account owners should have no direct influence on what appears in the book overview for a selected book, regardless of whether Partial or Public is selected.

You want to block viewers from being able to modify how they want to sort the collection to quickly find a book in your collection that you’re sharing?

Can you explain to me exactly what you need, and what the use case is here?

Perhaps I am not expressing myself clearly.

I do not want to influence the sorting options for viewers. I would like to be able to design what viewers see on the overview page of a selected book.

For example, I would like the rating, reading date, and publication date to appear, but not the added date or modified date, nor the index (points that appear when set to public).

Alright, clear, you wish to have certain fields blocked for public viewers, but the “Partial” doesn’t cut it,

For example because you do want your rating and reading date to appear (publication date always appears by the way), but you dont want added/modified date.

Alright. Noted.

It is currently not possible to add/remove your own fields from whatever is visible on the Cloud website. We have it on the ideas list to have a “Partial” mode where you can select which fields are visible for outside viewers.
