Any way you can distinguish between an Album and a single. Adds all my vinyl up as one entity
Sure, you can edit the Format field in the Edit Album screen to do so.

Yeah the univseral default to vinyl irritates me too. In MuC I have added many formats like 7inch45, 12inch45, 7inch33, 10inch33 and anything else that needs specifying. “LP” is shorthand for 12inch33, but ‘vinyl’ is so generic that it is almost useless.
However it is EASY to find the entries that are listed as ‘vinyl’ by default and to fix them to your own liking.
I do that when adding my new LPs, 12", 10" and 7" singles
