Add to collection doesn't import author, title and year

I did a screenrecording but it I can’t upload it.

But basically what happens is, that, when a book isn’t in core and I add it through the add screen after searching the ISBN, then, when I add the book to collection, it doesn’t import title, author and year, just the ISBN and the cover. When I remove this book and search again for the ISBN, then I can add the book with all the fields.

Am I doing anything wrong? Can I do this in one step without removing and a second core search? It doesn’t happen all the time but I can’t figure out what’s the difference in the few instances when it it’s working correctly.

Sorry to hear that. I’m not able to reproduce this on my iOS nor Android device though. Here’s what I did to try to reproduce your problem:

  • I searched an ISBN that was not in Core
  • I typed in the author, the title, the publisher and the year
  • I tapped NEXT
  • I then picked a cover
  • I then confirmed
  • This placed the ISBN in my queue.
  • I then added the book to collection.

I noticed it had my author/title/publisher/year.

So, I would like to see the video:

You can send me the file(s) via:

I uploaded both videos on wetransfer. I get this all the time:sweat_smile::melting_face:. And I have absolutly no idea what I’m doing wrong.

Thanks AJ for looking into it.

The first video was a bit confusing, but the other one clearly adds it without any data. Very strange!

Has this always happened for you? Or did it work at some point?

Can you test, as a test, once with a book that does not have like a ß or ö in it?
(it’s okay if you type it wrong, I can fix it in Core later)

Just to see if that is causing it for you?

I’m able to reproduce the problem now @ritreffem - we will investigate and I will get back to you once I have more information.

@ritreffem Thanks for your patience. We’ve just released version 10.2.3 of CLZ Books iOS. This build contains the fix for the problem you reported with the Unrecognized ISBN screen!

Your app may have updated itself already (check the menu top left, the version number is at the top).

If it hasn’t updated itself yet, here’s how to force the update:

on iOS:

  1. On your device, open the App Store app.
  2. Search “CLZ” and select your CLZ app.
  3. Tap “Update” to update the app.

Can you please let me know if that fixes the issue for you?
