How do I include all my downloads? The app version used to let me add music files directly from my music folder(s). I now just buy downloads. How do I add them in bulk with the current web version? If you don’t already have this capability, you really need to add it.
Cataloging files, by scanning a local hard drive connected or inside your computer, will not be something we’re going to add to CLZ Music Web (it would be very strange if a website can scan your local harddrive.
The old Music Collector program, which lived on your computer, with access to your harddrive, indeed did this.
We do have an idea on our ideas list to allow users to “paste a tracklist” into the edit album screen.
Alternative idea: if you can export a list of artist/album from your harddrive to a CSV file, you can use the import from CSV system on CLZ Music Web to import that list of albums (and later link them with Core to get tracks).
Thank you for your prompt reply.
Thinking about your alternative idea… what information would have to be in such a CSV file in order for your software to be able to lookup the track lists and cover art? Do you have any ideas how I might generate such a CSV file? What software tools or applications would create such a file.
If this method works, you might consider including step-by-step instructions on your website because, as I mentioned earlier, lots of us are forgoing physical media and just buying/collecting downloads these days. Just a thought.
I don’t know of software that can make a CSV file from a list of album folders, but it should exist. AI could probably help. Or just Google.
Artist and Title would work, a release year helps.
I recommend just trying with say 3 albums and see if you like it.
Actually, I was just looking for one. Then I remembered mp3tag (which doesn’t just do mp3s). It can be found here: https://www.mp3tag.de/
I’ll be experimenting with it over the next few days and I will keep you posted. If it works easily and smoothly, I might suggest that you contact them about each mentioning one anothers products in your respective documentation.
I have probably close to a thousand album downloads and I can’t realistically manage them without some automation. You offer the ability to scan barcodes, which I don’t think they offer. They have the ability to build and then export CSV files from directories on my computer. The one think I’m not sure about is… they record individual tracks while you manage albums (with their tracklists). I’ll have to figure out if there is a way to connect them.

Also… I wonder if JRiver (https://jriver.com/) or foobar2000 (https://www.foobar2000.org/) or any of the other media players might have the needed capability.
