I’d like to suggest adding URL presets/templates or the option to set a default value for the Description field when adding URLs.
I regularly add Discogs links to my records, and each time I have to manually type (or select from previous entries/paste) “Discogs” in the Description field.
This gets repetitive when adding approx 2.000 entries.
It would be great if we could:
Define a default description (e.g., always “Discogs”), or
Create presets (e.g., “Discogs”, “Wikipedia”, etc.) that auto-fill the Description field when selected
This would speed up data entry and improve consistency across collections.
I can understand where you’re coming from, and I will take note of your suggestion, but I get the feeling it might be overkill for that screen. For most links it should generate a title automatically, based on what our system finds on that URL. Some websites block this.
It feels like an elaborate settings thing for the link tab I think. But nevertheless, noted.
Workaround: I have a Streak Deck with fysical buttons. It can also type into a field when I press a button. So you can program your own text. You could use something like this to enter a text. I think there are also cheap chinese keyboard buttons (3 or 6 buttons) you can use to do this.
I think it is also possible with software only, but I think it will never work as good or easy as fysical buttons.
