I’m testing the web software, Most of my vinyl are too old for the bar code so i am using the Cat No to add. I get multiple items and can not figure out what is the difference between them, same title, artist, date, tracks & cover.
This is because vinyl can have many different versions in pressings. What I always do is add the version with the most data and then go to Discogs to check the matrix runout codes to find the exact version. Checking the images of covers and labels is often helpful. Quite often you can identify the country of origing from the album cover (printed in USA). This narrows down your search. If the label lists STEMRA, it’s probably a Dutch pressing. BIEM/Gemra is often French. In discogs you can apply filters to find your version.
Thanks, that explains it. I just pick the first one in the list that matches all the data, which works for me.
