An odd sort of bug....but is it? [not spam, honest!]`

Hey gang,

Long time user of the desktop software, running version 23.1.1.

The issue:
I am adding, in this instance, artist, “Ken Martin & SK231” to the database. Now, if make the sort name, which is what I think it should be, as “Martin & SK231, Ken” - it does not sit right below “Martin, Ken” - in fact, it sits above him, above Felix Martin, and above Martin Miller (in my database).

In theory, subsets of “Ken Martin” should sit below, well, Ken Martin. Now, I could just as easily make the sort “Ken Martin &…” but then they sit in Ken Martin’s discography, but that’s the easy way out. :slightly_smiling_face:

Happy to send you the DB, but it’s 7400 CDs long and you can see it, I’m sure, when it uploads to the cloud (as it does).

Any ideas how to fix this kerfuffle so that it lines up right under Ken correctly, or should I just bite the bullet and just have it in Ken’s discography and stop being so anal about things:?

Mike

Have you tried “Martin, Ken & SK231” instead?

oooOOh! I think that might have solved it. I never know what’s the right way to put these sort of things in (you would think after all of these years I would).

Thank you, Alwin!

Just remember that the software sort on the Sort Title in alphabetical order.

TIP: to better see what is happening and why, add the Sort Title as a column to your list.
