Artist name inverted

Hi
When I am adding new albums from Core, I get artist name straig - as John Lennon, but I want them inverted as Lennon, John.
How can I change that permanently before importing?

Why do you want them inverted?
If you manage Pick Lists | Person you should see that the Sort Name is “Lennon, John” and the display name is “John Lennon”.
Also in Tools | Options | Sorting/Autocap/Index you can select “Show Sort Names for Persons”.
This should give you exactly what you want.

This was already chosen “Also in Tools | Options | Sorting/Autocap/Index you can select “Show Sort Names for Persons”.” So no effect

Can you then post screenshots of:

  • the setting being switched on
  • your manage pick list, on the artist list
  • the result in your main screen

Maybe then we can spot something.

Does this work?

So this one just didn’t come in correctly perhaps?

I mean when I check your list on the screenshot I’m seeing loads of correct ones? (that are displayed as “Lastname, Firstname”).

I recommend just going to Manage Pick Lists, and find your artist list, and correct this one.

But I have corrected all the others. But Peter Sommer is placed after first name - Peter instead of Sommer. I can live with it but I don’t understand it and it is not everytime. Sometimes the artist is coming in sorted after the last name. Why this difference?

If you add an album, and we have the artist name/sortname in the wrong order (or it comes from Discogs wrong), then this happens, and then you indeed can fix it for your collection.

Could that be the explanation?
