I performed an export/import of several thousand items from DVD Profiler to CLZ Movies WEB (by using the specific XML import routine developped by CLZ). After a few weeks I discovered that a lot of barcodes fields are now blank. After investigation, it seems that all the barcodes that are missing start with a “0” (in the corresponding field UPC in DVD Profiler). Could you please verifiy my observation and may be correct your DVD Profiler Import routine.
That is strange indeed.
If those barcodes are blank, that would mean those movies would not be automatically linked to Core either, right?
Maybe you can send us your DVD Profiler XML file so that we can try here?
You can send me the file(s) via:
I just transfered a file with a couple of examples. I honestly did not check if they were linked to Core during the import as I prefer to keep my original custom edited data and my self-scanned front and back covers.
Thanks for that file. I imported it, resulting in 9 movies, but 5 of them did not get linked to Core. And for those five, the barcode did not get imported, all barcodes that start with TWO zeroes.
I think there are two bugs here:
- those barcodes ARE in Core, but the import did not link them up because of the extra zero in front
- when a link cannot be made, it seems to not import the barcode itself
I will ask one of our developers to look into this, see if we can fix this.
Okay, in the end, it turned out that the problem was related to dashes in the barcodes. Our import code was not able to deal with that.
This problem has now been fixed!
So if you run the import again, it should be able to auto-link more movies to Core. And it will indeed import the barcodes too.
The import does not import your self-scanned covers. It just imports the data and when linked to Core, you will get the cover images from Core.
Thanks very much. As I corrected already all my data manually , this fix will help your next Cutsomers
