Barcode used for different platforms of same game

Hi,

I scanned my copy of the Spectrum version of Spy vs. Spy 2: The Island Caper using the CLZ Gamers app. However the app returned the Commodore 64 version. I believe that both used the same barcode and are differentiated on the packaging only by a sticker (a practice quite common in the 80s).

I changed the details in the app so that the Platform is ZX Spectrum, also updating the PriceCharting ID (5065316) and adding the correct cover.

However if I try to upload this to Core, it thinks I am trying to edit the C64 version, not upload a different version.

What is the correct method to add a new Platform for a game, based on the existing information?

Incidentally there is also an Atari 400 edition of the same game, again using the same packaging, and likely the same barcode. It is PriceCharting ID 33588.

If all three versions were in Core, all with the same barcode, would the app offer the ability to select which is the correct platform when scanned?

Thanks!

Indeed @BryceS if you submit this, and in the submission change the platform, it will submit it to the original platform with the “suggestion” for us to “change the platform”.

Since this barcode is on both platforms, (or even 3 if the Atari 400 has the same barcode), it is hard to submit. I’ve now added 5015008321038 to the ZX Spectrum (PCID 5065316) manually on our side, so if you search it now it will find the correct version.

Currently in our mobile apps you should get this as a result, allowing you to choose:

For future issues here, I suggest it’s best to report them here, and we can manually add the barcode to the other platform as well!
