What is (are) the best way(s) to edit the entries of my DVDs that I’ve scanned into CLZ (using their barcodes) that are part a “series” so I can group them together when desired?
By this, I’m not including DVDs of any television series. I’m talking about groupings like “The Thin Man movies” or “Jurassic Park movies” or “King Kong movies”. I don’t see a field for helping to to categorize regular movies to be able to sort them in that way. “The Thin Man” group is of particular interest because all don’t have terribly similar titles.
I do this using the Box Set field on each movie’s Main tab.
First, decide on a group name for all the movies you want to link together. For example: Robin Hood.
To begin creating your custom Robin Hood box set, find and select the first movie you want to include in it.
Tap the Edit button. The first screen you see includes the Box Set field. Type “Robin Hood” in that field and then click the Done button.
A contents list for this new, one-item Robin Hood box set will be displayed above the title of the movie you just added to it,
Repeat this process until you have added all your Robin Hood movies to the box set.
When you are done, every movie in the Robin Hood box set you created will display a list of all your Robin Hood movies. To jump to the data for a specific movie in this list, just tap its title.
You can rearrange the list by dragging and dropping the individual movie titles into your preferred order.
This approach works well for me. I hope it works for you, too.
Box Sets could work, but it might be annoying to have them within your other actual box sets. If not, go that route.
The box set method has the advantage that the movies from the same “box set” will always be in view at the top of the details panel of a movie in there.
Otherwise, the Series field is not only for TV Series, we’ve got lots of users using it for “Jurassic Park” as well!
You can use the folder button top left, then group by Series field only, and you’d see your Jurassic Park folder.
