When I transferred my collection over from Key Collector, only about half the cover images show up. I know I can go in and Link/add each series, but that would take me hours. I’ve already spent a couple doing this. Is the a way to bulk link/add comics? I tried everything on both mobile and web CLZ. Cant seem to find a solution.
It IS possible to import data from competitors apps or sites.
If you can export to a CSV file with your current database, you should be able to import that list into the CLZ Cloud site (Import Data from the menu). After that import, you need to use Link Comics from the menu to link your imported comics to the corresponding entries in our Core. That linking process will then give you cover art and creator lists from CLZ Core.
This is your bulk link solution though (I’m not sure how else our system can figure out what Key Comics did with their series naming etc… )
But as you noticed: that linking job is often a nightmare, because other apps/sites may have different naming for series and also variants. So the linking is often very time consuming and annoying. And even then, the result is far from ideal, especially when linking variants.
So in general, we recommend to just start from scratch and re-catalog your collection with CLZ Comics and its cover scanner tool. This is easy, quick and fun! And will give you a perfect database.
thanks for the reply, but rescanning almost 4k books isn’t even an option for me. I will just live with the way it is and link the missing covers as I come across them. I was just hopping there was an easier way. I wish I would have found this app before I spent all my time on the other one, because this one seems a lot better. Thanks again.
It’s unfortunate we just can’t automatically link the way our series and issues are setup versus how “other apps” (and there are a few) do it.
I understand your choice. Just know that 4000 comics.. if you spend 2 weekends on that you’ll probably be done. I’ve seen it done in one weekend as well - but depending on where your boxes are I can imagine that is just not an option.
