I haven’t paid attention to my comics for 3-4 years and even before that I had let my clz sub lapse. I do still have my database working in the MacOS software (version 20). I’m considering signing up for the web software, but only if I can bring in my data. I never really synced to cloud or used that service at all in the past, so not sure what’s possible with the Mac product no longer supported. I unfortunately also used a lot of custom fields, which from what I’m reading aren’t supported in the cloud version, so I’m assuming all of that data would be lost?
I poked through some other similar topics, but not sure what’s current. Just looking to get some info so I can make a decision as to how to move forward.
Thanks, I did manage to find my account and it is synced, unfortunately even with it saying the sync is all up to date, the numbers are substantially off - the app has 16584 comics but the CLZ cloud page has 17341. I haven’t been able to find why there are so many more on the cloud site. I’ll keep digging into that, then I’ll have to figure out what to do about my user defined fields. I’m assuming that’s just the 4 fields on the user defined tab? The other related question would be the value field - when I did this years ago I was selling and used the value field for my prices. Now that you have a service with values will that override the prices I’ve set? Ideally I’d like to have both, but not sure that’s possible?
Okay so I want the sync fixed first. To do that, I recommend to clear your Cloud and then sync from the macOS app to upload all your comics.
User Defined Fields will not sync.
The value field will sync and be put in the “My Value” field on Web.
If you take out a CovrPrice subscription to get values, it will go into a different field, (so it does not overwrite your own filled in price however your My Value field will show “as the value” always. So that will give you some troubles there if you used that for something else.
Thanks I cleared my cloud and did a fresh sync and everything seems to be the same now. In terms of next steps is it just a matter of signing up for the new Web product and then there’s some way to sync from the cloud database? Ideally I’d like to change the username, but I guess that’s not the end of the world.
