In a number of my non-fiction books, a famous or well-known personality has written an INTRODUCTION rather than a FOREWORD. This inclusion in your current Credits list makes my inventory index far more accurate.
It can not be added by the user, I will take note of your request.
Upcoming for CLZ Books Web is a way to create your own fields (but then it would not appear on the credit list tab, but rather on your “Custom fields” tab.
I think I would recommend to use Foreword Author for this though - could you let me know what the problem would be using the foreword author field?
In academic publications, a preface & a foreword can work very similarly. These tend to be brief essays, sometimes by a more well-known scholar in the field/topic of the book. The preface/foreword can offer a junior scholar a stamp of approval or validation that the scholarship is credible.
An Introduction tends to be a lengthier essay, often times providing context and or a review of relevant scholarship on the topic of the book. In the case of anthologies, an Introduction can work to identify the scholar of each essay as well as identify key ideas within that scholar’s essay. In very well written introduction s, the writer also explain the interconnectedness of the individual essays weaving together a set of essays that work to support & engage with one another forming a cohesive narrative within the content & arrangement of the individual essays.
Hope this helps
