I have about 100 films in my database where cast and crew info is lacking. I have tried Update from Core, but even though the information is in the Core database, it doesn’t appear in my local database.
Is the movie linked?
Is the movie correctly linked with Core? (you can right click a movie and use Link with Core to link it)
Custom cast/crew?
Note that if you’ve marked your cast/crew list as “custom” it will not download updated information from Core. You can right click a movie, hit Edit, go to the cast/crew and see if it is set to Core or Custom.
Are your settings correct?
In the main screen, click “Tools > Options”. Then click on “Data and Images”.
Then click the button “Download settings for data and images” to change settings for which field-information should/should not be downloaded or updated.
Check if cast/crew is set to download and update there.
Test with adding:
If you add it “as new”, does it download the correct cast/crew?

The custom cast/crew helped with the most obviously problematic, and a lot of the others either didn’t have the data in Core or were collections entered into my database as one item.
