CLZ App v. CLZ Web

I’m completely confused about how the CLZ App and CLZ Web interact and whether I need to have both. I’m going to start with these questions because I really don’t know where to begin.

I like the CLZ app book scanning feature. It appears that the “CLZ scanner” for the web only uses barcode and there is no book scan feature. Is that correct?

If I keep the CLZ app for the book scan feature, how do I import my scanned books into the CLZ web?

If I only have the CLZ app is there any way to see my collection online? Or can I only see my collection on ios devices?

At CLZ.com we offer 2 cataloging solutions. The main difference between them is the platform.

  • For use on your phone and tablet, there is our CLZ mobile app, available for iOS and Android.
The CLZ mobile app has a built-in barcode scanner for adding items, a nice native app-like user interface and stores data locally, on your device, so you can also view and edit your data while offline.

  • For use on your computer, there is the CLZ Web web-based software
CLZ Web is web-based, basically a website that you log into with your web-browser, with your data and images stored in our CLZ Cloud system. It is super easy to use and easy to manage. We handle everything for you, like software updates, daily backups, etc…
And since CLZ Web is just a website that you login to, you never have problems with firewalls, security software, etc…

The above two are all you need, CLZ Comics Mobile on your mobile device(s), CLZ Comics Web on your computer(s).

That is correct, only CLZ Comics Mobile has the cover scanner.
CLZ Scanner can only scan barcodes.

By tapping “Sync with CLZ Cloud” in the menu in your CLZ Comics Mobile app.

Yes, by tapping “Sync with CLZ Cloud” and then go to your public cloud page on cloud.clz.com (login there and you can set up sharing options in the menu).

Thank you, that was helpful!

I just wanted to remind you that your app on iOS also works on any Mac that is m series. I use it on my m2 Mac all the time because I am not yet convinced that web app is worth paying. I loved the desktop but alas like the Mac Intel be version the windows verse might disappear also.
