For a few days now, CLZ Books is crashing every time I open it on my iPad. It shows the ‘loading’ pop-up, but crashes before it finishes opening.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and it worked fine for the next couple of times I opened it, but then started crashing again.
Could I be hitting some sort of size restriction? I’ve got approximately 40, 000 entries on the database, and the database is 3.12GB. Or maybe it needs a certain amount of memory available to open (I’ve only got about 2GB free)?
I don’t get this issue with the Android version on my phone.
@bookzombie sorry to hear you’re having some issues with CLZ Books app crashing on your iPad. The size shouldn’t really matter.
First off: don’t remove/reinstall the app for now.
Could you let me know:
What kind of iPad do you have exactly?
Can you check in the App Store app if there is an update for CLZ Books on your iPad? (so we know if you have the latest version?)
If you reboot the iPad does the app start up normally then?
If you keep getting crashes, can you send us a crash report?
To investigate this issue I would like to get a crashlog from your device. Here’s how you can obtain one:
Reproduce the crash.
Open iOS’s settings app.
Choose ‘Privacy & Security’
Choose ‘Analytics & Improvements’
Choose ‘Analytics Data’
Pick the latest entry from the list which corresponds with the crashing app. The file name should correspond with the app, and the current date.
So the filename begins with “CLZ”
Tap the ‘share’ button. (The square icon with the arrow pointing out of it).
Alright! We found the problem and will be uploading a fix to Apple App Store today. They then have to approve it, and then you can download the fix. Should be about 24 hours usually before they approve it (but can be longer). I’ll report back here when it’s live!
@bookzombie This should now be fixed in CLZ Books v10.5.4 for iOS.
Your app may have updated itself already, but you can’t check that as it doesn’t open for you
If the app doesn’t open still, it means it hasn’t updated itself yet, then here’s how to force the update:
I was wondering, (if you haven’t already) would you be willing to post a nice review for the CLZ Books app in the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store? It only takes a minute and would help us tremendously! (in the App/Play Store, apps with more reviews and ratings get listed better in the search results)
Here’s how to post your review for CLZ Books:
On your phone or tablet, tap one of the links below to open the App/Play Store entry:
Scroll down to the “Rate this app” / “Ratings & Reviews” section
Then tap “Write a review”.
Not sure what to write? Just tell us your CLZ story, about your collection, about how you use the CLZ app, your favorite features, why you like the app, your customer support experience, etc…
No time to write a review right now?
Just a nice star rating is very helpful too! Your rating and/or review helps us to ensure CLZ stays ahead of the competition.
