CLZ not talking to it's current database?

Hi, I have just added CDs to my collection on CLZ. They added ok on My computer. I have not yet sync’d them to CLZ cloud. A couple opf the CDs need to be added as they did not come up from online database. The one I am having a problem with (I don’t think the problem is with the CD) is The Beatles Rubber Soul Sessions. I have added the text to the entry and when I tried to scan the image it gave me an error message.

I got another Error message when I tried to scan again.

Any ideas?

I haven’t actually used CLZ Music for a while so I don’t know how it has been corrupted.

Derek.

It hasn’t been corrupted.

The error you’re getting for Syncing is just because you’ve opened a different database file on your Music Collector. This can happen for instance if you switch computers, reinstall, rename your database file before opening it again, there’s all kinds of ways this can be caused.

If you wish to be in sync, and the database you have there is the one you wish to sync, you can safely click “yes” in that error box.

As for acquiring an image from a scanner:

To use an image scanner in the software, you have to find and select your scanner first.

  1. Click menu Tools > Options,
  2. Click “Image scanning and editing”
  3. Click “Refresh”
  4. Select your image scanner (if you see a “WIA” version, select that one).
  5. Click OK to save your image scanner.

You can now use the “Acquire” button on the cover tab in the Edit screen to scan an image.

Can’t find your scanner?
If the above doesn’t work, and the program can’t find your scanner please make sure the scanner is correctly installed in your “Windows System Settings > Printers & Scanners”.

Even if your scanner worked before or works with other programs, it can actually help to just try and reinstall it, as new drivers might be available and needed. So go to your System Settings and then to Printers & Scanners and see if you can find a “new scanner” (even if you already see yours there.

You may also be able to find a new driver on the website of the manufacturer of the image scanner.

Once you’ve reinstalled your image scanner, try the 5 steps above again.

Hi, Thanks.

I have also noticed that quite a lot of the images are missing from my Images folder. I have checked the online database and they are all there. If I press yes to delete the cloud database, I will be left with the missing images. So, I will have to uninstall and reinstall then download cloud database. Gives me something to do.

Indeed DEFINITELY do not clear cloud
You could also use Update from Core on the missing covers. Try it with one. (right click album, then Update from Core) -

Or, if most of your covers are "scanned ones that you image scanned yourself, then a File > New Database, then sync everything, would likely be a much better idea!)

But, all those things really sound like you changed computers or a lot has happened on the computer since you last used Music Collector?
I mean if the images are still on your computer, just in a different location, this could help too:
