Hey there,
I don’t know if one is “right” and one is “wrong” but I was just wondering if Core would want some consistency with these?
Sometimes they go by #1 as seen on the cover and located within the title, but others have the issue number as the year of release. Should we want to clean these up? Leave as is? Just make changes to local databases and not be a stickler?
hi, let me tell you that annuals are a nightmare . These days they are released as annuals within a specific volume. Compared to volume 1 where these were released when Avengers was a long running series. With Marvel releasing a new #1 every so often these can not be bundled.
Then we arrive at the issue numbering. When 2 Annual titles are released within a specific volume it creates an inconsistency. We can’t have 2 #1’s within a serie but you still want to keep them together. Marvel would make it a lot easier if they would just name the 2022 #1 and 2023 #2. That’s when we opt for the release date year as the issue numbering. With 2 #1’s in a series it would look like a mess you wouldn’t know which variant belongs that #1. We would get a lot of complaints if we were to give them the issue numbering I just mentioned.
There are lots more inconsistencies within the comic world but we try our best by making things look consistent when they are not . Hope this answers your question?
Umm, yea, I guess “don’t touch - its complicated.”
I’ll make changes locally and not upload to Core. It’s all good. That’s what makes this so versatile and worth the investment.
