I have run into this before and thought I would ask again.
Looks like the Comic I had for Action Comic 1W has changed and I can’t find the 2018 pure silver item.
I know how to correct this comic, I think, if I can find the comic in the core but it troubles me that I may have many many more.
Is there any way to run anything that will identify numbering that does not match core?
You could select a couple of comics, then use Update from Core.
In the Update from Core settings popup, you can set VARIANT (not variant description) to “REPLACE” and then update. This will download the new variant letter we have for the matching comic id in Core.
Try it with a few to see if it works.
If the comic id doesn’t exist in Core anymore, this won’t really work though.

I will try that at some time. Right now I would like to find where this comic is located in core.

Ok, I found another in the same list and found the new letter.
Looks Like 1AJ has moved to 1E. I tried your procedure and it worked but now I don’t think it is linked correctly. I unlinked and relinked but no dash beside it like before.
Well I decided to do all of the #1 Action Comics to see what would happen.
Big mistake. Nw I have 3 1W and the one that was wrong is still wrong.
I have 5 1E and they show different comics so not sure how to fix.
It looks to me like you have done away with some comics in this group like the #1 pure silver or combined some like the Post Office reprint and I only see the one in core without the postal stamp. May be others that have changed also as there were a lot of Action Comics #1 comics.
Can you please enable these 2 fields as columns, then make a full screen screenshot of the wrong comics?
This ID will decide which variant letter you will get from us.
If you’ve added the same comic in the past like 10 times and just added letters to it, it means they are still linked to the one in Core, and that is the one you’ve gotten.
You might need to right click comics, select Unlink, then right click and select Link Comic and pick the right version you have, and then update it with a new variant..
It still looks like to me you have done away with some comics that caused the problem. The 1E top and bottom in the screen capture is the comic that has the postal stamp and the one in core without the postal stamp is 1J. I know how to step down each comic and correct each. Now the two 1E will change to 1J but if I was adding new from core there would not be one with the stamp. Is that what CLZ intends?
Thanks for your patience. So I heard back from the team and they said they did clean up that series - got out bad non existing ones, merged some, etc.
You can right click a comic, then select “Relink Core Variant”, and then pick your variant - that should relink and fix it that way. Can you try that once with one? Maybe that is the solution - but it is a manual 1-by-1-job
I can understand them combining the postal books but I don’t like it.
I still don’t see the 2018 Pure Silver book to link because it does not exist anymore in core and will not link to correct book so I hope they will add it back.
Hi, like AJ said this issue and its variants/reprints have been cleaned up and doubles have been merged. The pure silver has been removed from Core as it’s not a comic. This plague of “pure silver” has a print of the book on it and was graded by CGC. It’ll remain unlinked and won’t be added back.
Ok, so no way to link to covrprice anymore. It does not seem the 1E I moved to 1J and relinked is linked to covrprice anymore either.
Here is another one you combined that has a different cover so should be a different book.
Correct. The reprints that are now in Core are the actual representation of what’s out there and is known to exist. I’d advise to remove the old entries, look at the reprints you have, compare them to the scans that are in Core and add it as a new entry. The info and entries that were in there before it was cleaned were incorrect.
Hard to make heads or tales anymore. Do you know what happened to this comic that use to be 1I? I can’t find any comic in core with 10 cent on the front that matches this comic.
Yes this was removed as the description (1993 reprint) doesn’t exist. They all say 1992 on the inside, which yours says as well. I’ll look into the copy you own and will add it back with what I can find!

You may also want to look at that postal book again. I think 1J should show the picture in core with the postal stamp since most of them were like that. Also update the linking to the correct book.
No, this one will remain as is. It’s the same book.
I agree it is the same book but the thing that made it was the postal stamp on the majority of the books. Only some did not get the stamp and are the error books.
I get what you’re saying but it’s still the same book. The books is altered afterwards, that doesn’t make it a different variant/editon. You can just add this and change the front cover. It’s also not an error, it was just shipped without a stamp.
