You can merge existing database files into one single database with multiple collections.
Use File > Import from > Other Database to import other database files into one master database, as separate collections. You will get a popup asking you if you wish to import the database as a separate collection.
Hello,
thanks for the information.
I had seen this, but what I am interested in is just transferring individual files from one database to another.
That means, for example, out of 1000 entries, I would like to copy 10 to another database.
Sorry, I forgot to add that.
I hope the translator didn’t make a mistake!
You can select multiple albums, export them, then import that selection to the new database.
Hi @jochen , what @antonmb is technically possible but could you explain a bit more about your actual use case? Multiple database files is usually not a handy solution, not sure what the end goal is here?
Hello, I have created 2 databases, one for CDs and one for LPs.
Now I would like to transfer individual LPs to the database in which the CDs are stored.
The entire LP database can be transferred to the CD database, but not individual files. That is exactly why it is important to only transfer individual files.
I’m curious, why have them in separate databases instead of all in one database and use “format” to separate them? Or even put them in separate “collections” within the same database?
