Disc Carousel

I have a couple of ZioTek disc carousels that house my music CD collection. At one point in the past, CLZ Music Collector interacted with them, and if I selected the disc the carousel would rotate around to the correct slot and eject the disc. After I upgraded my PC to Windows 11 the carousels were no longer recognized by the operating system, so I wasn’t surprised I couldn’t do that any longer.

I now have the proper drivers installed and the carousels are seen by the operating system. The software that came with the carousels is able to turn to a selected slot and eject discs, etc.

My Music Collector software (latest version) still maintains fields for the Disc Carousel units and their slots, but it can’t “see” the units themselves. Is there a configuration that needs to be set in order for that to happen?

It’s been a while since we’ve received questions on the Ziotek!

We used to send this template to users with problems:

You may need to install this driver for your Carousel device:

Dacal/Ziotek:
http://downloads.collectorz.com/drivers/dacalsetup.exe

Centurion:
http://www.digistoresolutions.com/products/downloads/105

I’m not sure if those still work.

You might also need to install Music Collector in 32-bit mode. Here’s how:

  • download the full installer from your account at https://my.clz.com and install from there.
  • while installing on the step that asks which version to install, choose the 32-BIT version.

That said, I can not guarantee this will work on Windows 11. But these are some starters you can try!

thanks so much. Since I’ve already got the drivers installed and the drives are already seen within the ZioTek software (CD Carousel Plus aka CDLIB), I’ll give installing the 32-bit version of the CLZ software a try. Thanks again!
