Does a comic unlink from core after it is edited?

I had a new variant of a comic that I wanted to add to CLZ (foil). I started with an existing virgin variant of that same comic that I duplicated and then edited. I modified all fields that differed from the origin virgin variant (variant, barcode, cover, etc.).

As there is no way to see how a comic is linked to core (without digging around in the backup file), I suspect that the link for the virgin comic carried over to the new variant. This will cause problems as it would prevent the new foilf varriant from being added to CORE and would pull incorrect values from Covr Price for the new variant.

I would like for the edited comic (new) to be disassociated from CORE until I “Add to Core” with the new variant and barcode info.

Is there a way to unlink an existing comic from CORE (erase the CORE ID link value).

I do not know where you’re asking this for as you posted in “General” - so I’m going to assume this is about CLZ Comics Web as that makes it a bit easier to reply

  • In CLZ Comics Web, in list mode, you could activate the ComicID column, to see if it is linked. There is absolutely no need to dig in a backup file - that sounds really complicated?

  • If you click a comic, then click the 3 dots menu top right above the details, you can see if UNLINK is available (this means the comic is linked) or the LINK is available, this means a comic is UNLINKED.

  • Want to see all unlinked comics? You can also simply click the menu top left, then go to Link Comics (under import/export) to see all your unlinked comics.

  • You can unlink a comic by clicking the comic, then click the 3 dots menu at the top of the details of the comic, then click UNLINK.
