I own a legacy Movie Collector which I would like to continue using. My old computer died and I have a new Windows 11 computer. I do not (at this time) want to upgrade, and I have thousands of film titles on the legacy program.
When I search for help, I get to the page explaining “Windows to Windows”: Download your latest version of Movie Collector from your My CLZ account. I have gone to My CLZ account and do not see a legacy Movie Collector program to download.
I’ve checked your email address in our account system, but I’m not seeing a legacy Windows purchase on this email address.
Did you perhaps use a different email address when you originally purchased the Windows version?
If so, can you use this contact form and ask there, and include any old email addresses you used in the past, or any purchase information you might still have? And include your first/last name, we can try and find it for you then: Accounts & Licenses Support - CLZ.com Help Center
It is possible that the original email was: threetaylors@gis.net (possibly now a defunct company). Note, however, that I do have an email from “Movie Collector Support” on 4/11/2005 going to threetaylors@comcast[dot]net, the very same address that you say is not in your system (your first sentence).
The old purchase information I have (dated around 4/11/2005) indicates the Order information as: 7854408, for the purchase of Music Collector Pro, Movie Collector Pro, and Book Collector Pro (each at 26.62 USD). That order information also indicates that the charge would appear on my credit card statement as “PLIMUS.COM ONLINE STORE” and that information or questions about installation should be directed to a Bitz & Pixelz email address.
The email from 2005 to my current email address indicates the license information for the Movie Collector Pro is: 660003440089.
Brian, your CLZ account to your comcast email address has now been linked.
But you’re trying to install an old version that no longer works. I have added the first HTTPS versions of all three to your CLZ account. Login to your CLZ account via https://my.clz.com/ and download version 18. Install the software and login with your CLZ account to remove the trial limit. Then follow the transfer instructions that can be found on our Help pages to move your old database to the new PC. See: Windows to Windows - Movie Collector for Windows - Latest
The instructions apply to all three: Movie, Music and Book Collector.
Version 18 works, apart from using Adding from Core or syncing to CLZ cloud. When you want to use these features too, purchase a subscription to version 23 via the CLZ shop.
