I would like to keep Duplicates in my Collection for various reasons: for a number of films in my collection I have 3D and normal versions, I have DVD and Bluray versions, I have Bluray and 4K versions, I have bluray from different countries (with different audio tracks) etc.
I would like a methode to be able to filter duplicates out without removing them from my Collections. I know that I will be able to do it when Custom Fields will be introduced later this year, but I think this is a common feature that could benefit all Users.
I therefor would like to propose to add a new “Duplicate” Collection Statuts to the following List.
I don’t think this is a good idea to have it as a collection status (because you could also have a For Sale that is also a Duplicate, or an “On Order” that is also a Duplicate, and a movie can’t have 2 collection statuses). I would recommend using tags, or custom fields later indeed.
Ok, I understand. Of course I can customize a solution thanks to your very flexible software, and I will thus do it. Still believe however that a ‚duplicate’ indication of some sorts would benefit a lot of collectors.
If you’d have a duplicate indicator, it would still be something you (the user) have to mark as the user - it would not be automatic, so Tags or a custom field is really the way to go here.
