Dynamic Range DB

Are there any plans to allow an import of Dynamic Range DB’s data into CLZ’s music database for a given CD? Probably a long shot, and I’m not even sure it’s possible, but I thought I’d ask. I use this data to decide between different releases of the same album.

It’d be nice to run a CLZ Music report on my collection for CDs with terrible dynamic range that might want to be upgraded.

What exactly would you like to have here?

Just compare your titles to the titles on that website?

Import all those DR albums into your own collection?

A field where you can set your album to say it has DR? (which you could do with the tags field right now)

If an album in CLZ Music matches an entry on Dynamic Range DB (via bar code or catalog number), store its DR score and display it along with the other album stats. The DR value shown would also serve as a link to the album on Dynamic Range DB.

Maybe we could also run reports such as: show all metal albums with a DR less than 8. Maybe you’ve got a few CDs to consider replacing.

I don’t know if the loudness-war guy offers his site’s data to 3rd-parties or how such a feature would scale, but I thought I’d throw the idea out there.

Thank you. I’ve taken note of your request here, with the page. Perhaps he does share, would be cool information to provide, indeed.
