Error message

Thanks to your excellent step-by-step help files, I was able to move my Movie Collector database from one computer to a new one. Everything is now working beautifully, but when I close Movie Collector, I get this error message:

Cannot create file “C:\Users\Default\Documents\Movie Collector\mvcA&A6.tmp”. Access is denied

Any thoughts on what’s going on here?

Sounds like the program doesn’t get enough rights from Windows to save certain stuff that it should save. A solution could be to install as an Admin AND open the program as an admin.

  1. Download the latest version of the software again from your CLZ Account page and be sure to save the installer. Download it here:
    https://my.clz.com

  2. Right click on the downloaded installer, and select ‘Run as Administrator’
    This will install the program with Administrative rights

  3. Now launch the program with admin rights (right click > run as administrator)

If that doesn’t work and you get the same error, just let me know and we can try more things. These “cannot create” errors can also be caused by overactive antivirus/firewall/protection software.
