I’m using the latest Android version but was wondering if there’s a way to scan by cover and if there’s only one match found then auto-add that book and go on… assuming there wasn’t a duplicate, not found, or some other circumstance that would prevent just adding the book in.
Granted, it saves maybe .5 - 1 second but my lazy buttocks haven’t inventoried my collection that goes back to when I started in the late 70’s so anything that helps speed it along is well appreciated. Or if the option is already in there and I just haven’t found it please point the way.
huh. I guess my use is different than others. The most problem I have when scanning covers is that the app always seems to pick “newsstand” rather than “direct”. All of my purchases have been “newsstand” so it’s clicking the other cover before plowing forward. If only there was an option that somehow preferred “direct” over “newsstand” for a given comic…
I did notice that when scanning barcodes and publishers have made the background red that the app just pretends there’s nothing there. I’m guessing it’s an issue with optics but I’m more pretty than smart so I couldn’t offer up a reasonable explanation of why that is.
That is quite strange indeed.
Are you taking “good” pictures? Like photos including all of the cover and only the cover for as much as possible? The more the picture is “just the cover” the better the recognition works.
This might be over the top, but could you please try to make a video showing us a couple of cases where it picked the wrong one?
A video would be most helpful if you could manage it…
Here’s how you can make a screen recording on your Android device:
Swipe down twice from the top of your screen.
Tap “Screen record”.
If “Screen record” is not there, you might need to swipe right to find it. If it’s not there, tap “Edit” and drag “Screen record” to your Quick Settings.
Choose what you want to record and tap Start. The recording begins after the countdown. (make sure to record entire screen, not just app
To stop recording, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the “Screen recorder” notification.
You can find the files in the Photos app in Library > Movies.
You can send me the file(s) via:
