I find I am manually changing all title sorts to delete the colon, since it treats colons differently from commas and spaces, but alphabetically I prefer all multi word be treated the same. Anyone else agree? Maybe there is an option to ignore colons (or the default sort starts to treat them like spaces).
It would be nice if colon, dash and space were treated as the same character. But then you’d also to worry about ': ’ (colon-space) and other similar combos (comma/space, et al.). I think what you really want is something like ‘ignore non-alphanumerics’. Of course, that can create new sorting problems like ‘Batman, Vol. 1’ appearing after ‘Batman: City of Madness’.
In the end, there is no one-size-fits-all and thankfully we can edit Sort Title.
