Feature Requests and Question about HTML functionality in the app

First time Posting in the community. Been using CLZ apps since 2018. Best collection apps on the market by far and large. Thank you devs for that!

That being said after amassing quite the collection, I’ve decided to dive deep into “sprucing” up my listings for each game. I want to make sure every game has the proper title, genres, release date, PriceChart ID, region, trailers (via “Add Link” since we can not add them ourselves) and finally descriptions.

Which brings me to the reason for this post. It’s a two parter. There are a few “feature requests” I was curious about and I also had a question about the 'descriptions" section of the edit tab. I could make a second post but I didn’t want to crowd up the forum with a bunch of separate posts.

Part One - Feature Requests:

Here is a list of a couple things I’d love to see come to this app in the future:

  • Allow the assignment of JP region under the “Value” tab as it is missing for whatever reason.
  • Custom “Statistics” View: i.e Select certain sections you would or would not like to see in Statistics.
  • Ability to add/edit Trailers yourself or embed videos in the “Game” view beyond basic links.
  • Ability to add “additional” photos beyond “Front/Back Covers”
  • Ability to search for Cover images inside the app either via Google Image Search or TGDB as to not clog up photos trying to change/add them.
  • Ability to ads icons for “Platforms” that don’t have one such as the “game.com” system or even the ability to add custom ones
  • Ability to add/change backdrop image for game view
  • Ability to rearrange the Split View on iPad/Tablet. It defaults to have the game list on top, and game info on the bottom and having the ability to switch that would be great.

That’s all the suggestions/requests I have for now but I’m sure I will find more!

Can wait to see what else you add to this amazing app!

Part Two - Question:

I was customizing my Descriptions and have found out that it is possible to use basic HTML codes to customize text such as “< b >” for Bold and the like. But some codes do not work such as < big > or anything having to do with text size. I looked into the manual to see if there was a list of what will and will not work as far as HTML code and there was no mention of it which is what led me not here. I was just curious as to what the limitations are for using HTML code in the description text. Any word on this would be fantastic.

Thanks for anyones time who read through all this. I hope someone can help me.

Thank you for using and praising our app!

  • Allow the assignment of JP region under the “Value” tab as it is missing for whatever reason.

The region on the value tab is called “CORE REGION” and is only used to get the “default” PriceCharting ID for that region (or default front cover) - I noticed that you are filling in the exact PriceCharting ID, so with that filled in you’re done anyway. All good. You can ignore the Region under PriceCharting on the Value tab.

The actual “Region” field (the region of that game) is found on the MAIN tab, under Format and above Audience Rating. That’s probably the one you wish to fill in!

  • Custom “Statistics” View: i.e Select certain sections you would or would not like to see in Statistics.

I’ve taken note.

  • Ability to add/edit Trailers yourself or embed videos in the “Game” view beyond basic links.

We’re thinking maybe to just incorperate something smart in the LINKS field so it knows it’s a YouTube trailer and show its “thumbnail” for you to click and open.
(and perhaps get rid of our trailers, or put them there also, or just a way for the user to hide one trailer).

Ability to add “additional” photos beyond “Front/Back Covers”

This is something we’re planning to do indeed!

Ability to search for Cover images inside the app either via Google Image Search or TGDB as to not clog up photos trying to change/add them.

Searching TGDB might not be something that TGDB would like for us to do, but Finding images through Google is already part of CLZ Games, but only when you have an unrecognized barcode. Will think about bringing it to the cover tab.

  • Ability to ads icons for “Platforms” that don’t have one such as the “game.com” system or even the ability to add custom ones

That would be cool. We are planning to update and have a LOT more icons added as well.

  • Ability to add/change backdrop image for game view

Noted.

  • Ability to rearrange the Split View on iPad/Tablet. It defaults to have the game list on top, and game info on the bottom and having the ability to switch that would be great.

I’ve taken note. We’ve seen request to be able to completely make the iPad / Tabletwork “as if it was a phone” and also requests to be able to split horizontal or vertical, so this is on the ideas list right now.

I was customizing my Descriptions and have found out that it is possible to use basic HTML codes to customize text such as “< b >” for Bold and the like. We strip quite a lot indeed. I’ve asked the development team and they gave me these:
h1, h2, h3, h4, p, b, u, i, strong, em, li, ul, ol, br, pre, a[href]
and style attr.

I hope that helps!
