Filters

A couple of questions.

  1. On my desktop versions, I can use filters for various requests like is a movie in 4k or saved to the web, etc. Can I do that with the web version? How do I add and remove filters from the web version?
  2. How do I get to the clz core section?

There is no specific “filter” screen, but, using folders you can probably get to where you need to be

You can click the folder button, top left, and then go to FORMAT and it will group on format.
You can group on many different fields.

You can click the 4K folder to see all your 4K movies.

You can also group on 2 fields, so for instance “seen it” first, and then “format”.

I think you’re looking for the Add Movies button! It’s top left.

Let me know if you have further questions,

What I want to do is search my collections with conditions: ie movies that are not a tv series and not dvd but are bluray I viewed it on a certain date and is a drama. Can this be done? I have tried with tags and by doing what you suggested, but I must be missing something.

Well, yes and no.

This sounds very specific.

You can folder group on up to 3 fields.

So right now in your collection I’ve grouped on:

  • is tv series
  • format
  • genres

That would get you this:

TV Series: NO
Format: BLURAY
Genre: DRAMA

But a fourth field is not possible.

Now if you switch to LIST view (at the top, the 3 horizontal stripes above your cover cards), you can add the column SEEN IT DATE and sort on that.

I understand you probably have quite a few extensive filters on Windows that you use a lot, and it might just be better to stick to the Windows version for you if this is really important for you to have. Unless you like the solution I proposed above! I mean, I can definitely see that working

(Can I ask what use case it would be to have that specific filter you mentioned? When do you use that? )

In my windows version I have 8 different filters. One that I use is the seen filter, I am currently viewing a collection of 3 stooges and there is over 300 shorts in the collection, so I have a filter to only view this film collection and not seen, that is sorted on date of production of the short. When I view a short and mark it as such, I want it to disappear from the sort while leaving all of the non-seen ones there. I also have one that I filter on 4k movies but are sorted by not being dvd or a tv series, and not certain types of series. Basically, I want to exclude certain things without too much hassle. I understand my maybe needing to stay on the windows, but if it is not going to be updated any longer, I am not sure of what route to take. Thanks for the info.

Maybe this will give you a better clue.

For that particular Seen it one, with the three stooges, I would click the folder button, top left, and then set it to “Seen > Series”

Then click the little triangle and open the “No” folder (not seen), then scroll down, click The Three Stooges folder.

Those are all your The Three Stooges series you have not seen, looks like this:

It might not be updated, but it will still work, so you can just keep using it!

That said, Web will likely do most of what you want, you just have to approach it a bit different than you have for many years (and learning/getting used to that, we also feel, that just takes a bit of time perhaps).

But I’m happy to think along with you to think of solutions in Web about what you did in Windows - to see if I can find another route for your particular filters.
