Plot:
Gully Foyle, the only survivor of the spaceship Nomad, see an apparent rescue ship pass him by. His desire for revenge enables him to effect his own rescue and return to earth. There, his pursuit is entangled in money, politics and interplanetary warfare. It is the story of Gully Foyle - loner, common-man, 3rd Class Matenon a shattered starship, who becomes one of the most incredible men of the 25th century.

The is the first volume of a two-volume set. A graphic novel adaptation drawn by Howard Chaykin, which utilized the complete text of the original novel was first published, in part, in 1979 by Baronet Publishing. The release of the conclusion was delayed due to Baronet’s bankruptcy. The second half was released by Marvel Entertainment’s Epic imprint in 1992.

The First Printing is a limited signed edition of 3,000. Signed by Alfred Bester, Howard Chaykin & Byron Preiss.
